Blacksmith Demonstrations

Every Thursday until Oct 5th - 11am to 3 pm & 6pm to 8pm

and every 3rd Saturday of the month July 15th to Sept 16th 1pm to 4pm

Demonstration of the traditional art and trade using Erie Canal era tools and techniques. Blacksmiths bend and forge material into distinctive and practical metal pieces while sharing legends and lore.   Free with admission

Ride Along with History: Kjirsten Gustavson will be dressed in 1890's bicycle costume to talk about the impact of the bike on women's lives.

6:00 pm TUESDAYS ON THE TOWPATH!
Recreational bike ride on the Old Erie Canalway Trail. Adult supervision required for kids 12 and under. 8-10 mile ride.

Kids Camp: Adventures on the Canal

Come down to Chittenango Landing this summer for a week-long experience to help us celebrate 200 years of fun on the Erie Canal! Experience life at the Landing and find artifacts in our archaeological dig, star in your own Erie Canal themed play, perform your own engineering and boat building experiments, test the waters of the canal, interact with the wildlife of Chittenango, make crafts, make ice cream the old-fashioned way, and play games like they did on the Erie Canal! Kids will engage in learning history hands-on, watch blacksmith demonstrations, live like the kids of the Erie Canal and most importantly- have fun!    Sign up today!!
